I love this time of year because when I come home I can hang out in the rose garden while it is still light out.
This is a view from my bench on the porch. The garden is one of the first things John and I did together when we bought the house.
Here's a shot of this years first picks on my night stand next to the card I received yesterday from Elmo. He makes one for me every year and they they are just beautiful.

Looks like a lovely knitting spot!
beautiful on both accounts - the card and the garden! I will be starting my garden this weekend now that the overgrown mess is cleared...I know who to go to for advice!
send Elmo my best :-)
Roni:
I have tried to knit there, but for some reason my cats think it's open season on my yarn. They hardly ever bother the yarn in the house.
Christina: What are you planting? My boys in Texas have planted a huge salsa garden. I would like another vegetable garden out back, but I'm still cracking the whip on the tile. To no avail, I might add. I will say hi from all the knister sisters when I write Elmo back.
Thanks for thinking of him.
